Amalinda’s Luke Groep to join Premier Soccer League
Amalinda’s Luke Groep (21) has been selected to play for the Premier Soccer League’s Lamontville Golden Arrows Football Club in the Nedbank Ke Yona team search.
The Nedbank Ke Yona team search trials took place at the Buffalo City stadium, in East London in April with thousands of hopefuls from across the country showcasing their talent in attempt to make the selector’s pick. Groep is the only one that was selected.
Groep worked as a cricket and hockey coach at Hudson Park Primary school. From the age of seven, football has always been something he loved and had a passion for. He played for Pride of India Football Club at the North End League and is happy to have made it on the national scene.
“Nedbank has given me a chance to play professional football. This is a dream come true and it means I have to work twice as hard, I am really appreciative,” said Groep.
Groep wants to inspire young children to take every opportunity that will help them in pursuing their dreams.
