BCM calls for extra caution in wet conditions

Buffalo City's emergency services responded to various areas in this morning (August 6) as a result of the rainy and wet conditions.

Traffic officers are onsite in a flooded Pontoon Road, Settlersway towards the airport and there are reported floods in Gloucester Road, Vincent.

Buffalo City Metro is warning motorists and residents to exercise extra caution during these wet conditions.

Technicians are also responding to the following areas who are experiencing power outages: parts of Beacon Bay; Buffalo Flats; Cambridge West, streets in Gonubie, and Mdantsane zone 7.

" Unfortunately for the people of the Berlin area, they have no water as we have a pump station that is being repaired by Amatole Water in Ndevana affecting villages in Ndevana, Tshabo, and Dongwe. With weather predictions saying there will be consistent rain today, we have emergency teams on standby for traffic, water, electricity roads and we are urging residents to report emergencies on our call center 0861113017 so that we can attend to them," said Samkelo Ngwenya, spokesperson for the Buffalo City Metro.
