BCM targets drunk drivers
Buffalo City Metro traffic and law enforcement has issued a stern warning to motorists who continue with the illegal act of drinking and driving. Over the last two weekends, 40 motorists were arrested for drinking and driving.
Quinton Chetty, BCM Traffic Chief Commander said the operations are aimed at curbing alcohol related fatalities on the road ahead of the festive season. Traffic officials are now using the new Evidential Breath Alcohol Testing (EBAT) device which delivers instant results.
Traffic drunken driving operations this past weekend netted 29 suspects in the City’s Inland and 41 in the Coastal region.
