While the world is still celebrating the crowning of South Africa’s third Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi, Boxer Superstores in the Eastern Cape celebrated another ‘queen’, her mother Philiswa Nadapu, the principal of Bangweni Primary School in Idutywa. She was given a surprise visit at her school by the Boxer Eastern Cape team, headed by Regional Manager Sobs Dlima.

The school with 60 enrolled children received gift packs, the school was given a R2 000 Boxer Gift Card and for Nadapu to share with the kids, she was given a customised ‘royal’ cake. The children said they are inspired by our new Miss Universe and are lucky enough to be taught by Zozibini’s mother.

“It takes a strong woman to raise a leader like Zozibini and we wanted to let her know that we love her and we are proud of how she has raised such a powerful woman,” said Dlima.

Zozi’s mother thanked the company for the surprise visit and said she was happy that she could celebrate together with her children.

“The donation will be put into good use for my pupils as it’s the start of the year and we need to buy lots of things,” she said.

“We are all so proud of Zozibini but we are equally as proud of her mother Philiswa for her daughter’s achievement along with her amazing work every day at Bangweni Primary School as the Principal. Who knows, maybe the next Miss Universe will come from Idutywa,” said Boxer Marketing Director, Andrew Mills.
