Clarke case postponed
The court case of the late Angelique Clarke-Abrahams was postponed for January 24, 2020, by Magistrate Kevin von Bratt at the East London Magistrate court on Wednesday, 18 December.
Mariah Clark, mother of the deceased expressed her sorrow after court, “He gets to walk free as though nothing happened and we have to pick up what’s left of our lives,” she said.
Clarke-Abrahams was allegedly raped and brutally attacked by her husband on the evening of August 29, in front of their five-year-old son in Fynbos. She died at Cecilia Makiwane Hospital on September 3.
The accused was later arrested and released on R2 000 bail on December 5 and was granted permission to visit his son.
