The seventh annual Jawitz Colour My Run was held this weekend, with some 2,500 entrants enjoying the powder blasts truly adding meaning to a literal rainbow nation.

It’s particularly difficult to give an exact number of entrants, noting that under 7’s are free of charge. The first event in 2013, attracted some 1,500.

The colourful 5km route hosted 7 different colour stations and a water station by Smith Tabata. The first station held by Fusion Office Automation has been a brilliant supporting business, this being their seventh year of participation.

Jawitz Property hosted their own purple station and was able to have fun along with the other supporters.

Independent Group, most definitely defining the meaning of the colour yellow, all smiles and mountains of yellow powder proved to be an enjoyable fun station. This was their sixth year supporting. The event coordinator, Grant Howell, is very pleased with the support from the community as well as the business partners.

Last year there was no sole beneficiary as Jawitz decided to “spread the love” of helping those in need and chose 3 different beneficiaries, unlike the usual sole beneficiary per event. This was made possible by the overwhelming support received. Reach for a Dream was sole beneficiary up until that point.

Their proud partners were Old Selbornian Running Club, Aldersons Ambulance, Algoa FM, Dynamic Sound with their six DJ’s along the route and Shannon Bright Photography and his team.

The main cause of the event was supporting various children’s charities throughout East London.
