East London’s Lindsay Weyer, Technical Advisor to the Springboks, keeps us updated from Japan.
We are in Tokyo, staying in a hotel right next to Yokohama stadium. All our preparation work is done. It is time for the players to relax and be in their own space. They have to execute what we have been planning for Saturday. Today is the Captain’s run day and we have a last meeting as the coaching staff to run down some thoughts on our tactics.
Playing New Zealand is a great way to start the World Cup and set a tone for the rest of the competition and to see where we stand. Currently, there has been a lot of Japanese supporters at our training sessions and at the hotel.
