Sibusiso Faith Msesiwe, also known as CeeBoo, is a versatile artist who moves between Afro-Soul and RnB.
Born and raised in East London, she started singing at the age of six, as part of her church choir and went on to learn to play the piano on her own.
“I am a self-taught musician. I enjoyed learning a skill without conscious awareness of the underlying processes of what is being learned. In that process, you make mistakes, learn, and grow, because you have no limits. For this reason, I do not like being boxed as a musician,” explained CeeBoo.
Her musical journey from church moved to poetry, and she later changed them into songs about her life experiences and things she imagined.
CeeBoo said that the poetry sessions boosted her self-confidence to be able to stand in front of the crowd and perform in front of a live audience.
In 2010 CeeBoo was part of Elements of Soul, a touring venture in which she wrote and produced their music, touring in South Africa and Namibia.
Their album, Music in Me, helped profile her musical skills. She said that this was an opportunity to test the market on whether they will receive the kind of music and message she wanted to deliver, and it was also a platform to polish her skills as an artist.
CeeBoo mostly sings about life, love, positivity, growth, faith, and humility.
“I do not make music for a particular target market or audience, but express myself for all to enjoy,” added CeeBoo.
She said her inspiration comes from her family and children, and her future plans include traveling around the world, fusing motivational speaking with her music career, and growing her brand while inspiring aspiring musicians to reach for their dreams.
“At the moment I am working on a few collaborations while finishing up on some new materials. The plan is to release a new album in March/April 2021, and I hope to be signed by an international record label by then,” she concluded.
