Entrepreneurs in the making

Happy customers, Brooklyn Swart, Amy Gulle and Leiah van Emmenes, show off their purchases made at the annual Market Day held at Clarendon Primary School last week.

On Wednesday, September 4, two Clarendon Primary Grade 7 classes had the opportunity to showcase the hard work and creativity that was put into preparing for their annual Market Day.

The school was buzzing with excitement.

The Grade 7's displayed their entrepreneurial skills and provided a wide range of homemade products such as food, games and crafts that were created using their knowledge of up-cycling.

The girls experienced the adrenaline rush of eager clients demanding, attention from every angle.

Market Day brought "real life" experiences to the school, allowing the girls to consolidate their knowledge of cost price, mark-up, float, profit, loss, expenses and income, but most importantly, it helped them to learn the values and skills of true entrepreneurship.
