Five children die in Ngcobo accident
The Ngcobo Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide after five passengers aged between five and 14 years of age were killed when a taxi from the Western Cape lost control along the R61 road near Manzana Village, in Ngcobo on Monday, January 13, 2020, at about 5am. Sixteen others, including the driver, suffered serious injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital.
“The identities of the deceased are withheld as some of their relatives are yet to be informed. The cause of the one-vehicle incident is not known but is currently under the investigation. Condolences to all the families who have lost their beloved relatives,” said Acting Eastern Cape Police Provincial Commissioner, Major General Andries Swart.
