Four killed in horrible N2 car crash

UPDATE:

Four people were killed and 12 were rushed to hospital in this morning's minibus taxi accident where the taxi allegedly had a tyre burst and rolled into oncoming traffic on the N2 near Abbotsford towards the North East Expressway this morning. The taxi collided with a Nissan sedan believed to have had just one person, the driver.


Four women from Mdantsane were declared dead on the scene. "A case of culpable homicide is under investigation," said Police spokesperson, Captain Mluleki Mbi.

Four people were killed, and others were rushed to hospital after a minibus taxi had a tyre burst and rolled into oncoming traffic on the N2 from Hemingways Mall towards the North East Expressway this morning. The taxi collided with a Nissan sedan believed to have had just one person, the driver.


Bodies of men and women from Mdantsane headed to Gonubie were thrown onto the road just before 8am. Both drivers survived with minor injuries. The distraught driver of the taxi was inconsolable on the accident scene.


Emergency services are still on the scene.
