King's BRAC hosts runners

Tara Schwulst was the first lady BRAC 10km finisher.

King Williams Town's Buffalo Runners Athletic Club (BRAC) hosted their fourth 10km race on Saturday and their first 21.1km.

Attracting a total of 437 runners, it was an emotional run for the host club as it was dedicated to their late member Khungeka "Khush" Soyeye who had passed away on Monday. His funeral was held after the race.

In the 10km race Zuko Kupiso of Born 2 Run defended his title while in the ladies it was club mate Tara Schwulst that took top honours. Yanga Malusi of Zwelonke AC and Zandile Rubushe of OMAC were the men's and women's 21.1km winners respectively.

The remaining podium finishers were as follows: 21.1km - Men: 2. Luthando Henjana (OMAC), 3. Bulelani Mgubo (BRAC). Women: 2. Xoliswa Bici (Hlazo AC), 3. Melanie Elsdon (Oxford Striders). 10km - Men: 2. Sive Tshokotsha (Real Gijima), 3. Fikelela Vani (Real Gijima). Women: 2. Weziwe Dlavana (Hlazo AC), 3. Zimkhitha Hoza (Motherwell AC).

Yanga Malusi was the overall winner of the BRAC 21km.
