Koi Show at the Bays!
Koi Keeping is a fun hobby, but requires a lot of dedication, patience and time.
The EC Koi Keeping Society held its 12th annual Koi Show at Beacon Bay this weekend.
There were many winners in various categories, but the overall Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion was Andre le Roux. ‘‘This hobby is about Koi keeping, not koi winning championships. You do not need to buy the most expensive fish, you just need to be a good koi keeper and have dedication. Ask my wife, I spend a lot of time at my pond,’’ said le Roux.
Other Supreme Champions on the day included, Nico Schultz and father and son pair of Leon and Dillon Krull who was crowned the Baby Grand Champion.
Show chairman, Jean-Pierre Jordan, was thankful to sponsors, Spargs Beacon Bay, Isuzu dealership, Lindiwe Hendricks from the Vuna Group, judges and all participants.’’
