Ladies hook them big at angling event
After weeks of bad weather, the Kwelera Ski Boat Club (KSBC) and Gonubie Marine Club held their monthly deep-sea angling competition recently to a very good turnout. Fourteen boats took to the sea at dawn with some very keen anglers after a lengthy absence due to rough seas.
Apart from top boat “Duthchie” once again showing its class landing a very nice mixed bag of species, it was the ladies who put the men in their place by landing the top two biggest fish on the day.
Trystan Smith landed the biggest fish of over 14kg with Jacky Fantham close behind with a nice fish of over 13kg.
The results were as follows: Top Boat - Dutchie (Kobus Koekemoer), 2nd - Dieu Donne (Michael Johnson), 3rd - White Knuckles (John Luef). Top angler: -Andrew Harris, 2nd - Richard Muller, 3rd - Kobus Koekemoer. Top Lady - Trystan Smith, 2nd - Jacky Fantham, 3rd - Hayley Luef. Top Junior - Keegan Brunsden, 2nd - Jade Clarke, 3rd - Josh Swanepoel. Top E Class - Blaze (Johan van Loggerenberg).
