Man confesses to murdering teen, Uyinene
The man who confessed to raping and killing Uyinene Mrwetyana (19) lured her back to the Post Office after he served her while she was fetching a package.
He was unable to assist her, so he told her to come back at 2 pm, although the Post Office would be closed by then, the court heard during his appearance at the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
He took the police to the crime scene in Khayelitsha, Cape Town on Friday following his arrest. Mrwetyana was last seen outside the Post Office on Saturday, August 24, 2019.
“We found bloodstains at the Post Office, his shoes and his vehicle. He confessed and took us to the crime scene in Lingelethu West, Khayelitsha. We are still waiting for more DNA reports and his hearing was postponed to November 5,” said Eric Ntabazalila, spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority.
