MTB brings together friends from all over SA

Brandon Oberam, Nic Sanan and Darryn Mountford enjoy a cold beer at the Table 58 watering point of the K2K.

With a hot day beckoning, close on 900 mountain bike riders gathered at the start of the 70km Kwelera to Kei Mouth (K2K) ride on Saturday morning.

As a fun event that started in 2012 with just 100 entrants, the ride's appeal has come to see entrants from as far as Johannesburg and Cape Town.

One of K2K's four co-founders, Mark van der Vyver said, "It's become an event that everybody looks forward to on our MTB calendar and brings together friends from all over the country."
