Suzanne to run for East London Down Syndrome
Local Charity Champion, Suzanne Pope will be running for Down Syndrome East London at the annual Sanlam Cape Town Marathon on Sunday, October 15.
Pope has participated in many marathons for the benefit of charity. These include the New York Marathon for a United Kingdom charity, Dublin Marathon for Down syndrome, London Marathon for the East London Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) and has also completed the Comrades Marathon and Ironman 70.3.
Down Syndrome East London deals with children and adults who have down syndrome; especially single mothers who need help with raising babies that are affected by this genetic disorder. Due to a lack of financial capacity, the association battles with helping those in need as all services require money.
During Down Syndrome Awareness month, this October, the association will be hosting a Down Syndrome Association Tea on October 26 at the Osner Hotel. The event will include entertainment, a silent auction and lucky draws. More fundraising events will be hosted.
The organisation seeks public assistance to help Pope reach her charity target and to assist in the continuation of services offered by the association. If you wish to assist, use the details below.
