Unisa places EC Regional Director on special leave
Following a week-long provincial shutdown of all UNISA campuses, Regional Director Motale Nkgoang has been placed on special leave pending the outcomes of an investigation of mismanagement.
In a meeting held on Wednesday between the Regional Student Representative Council (RSRC), Acting Registrar, Director, Dr Somadoda Fikeni, Human Resource Director, Acting Head of Regions and Acting Student Affairs Executive Director, it was also resolved that HR must undergo an investigation due to serious nature of allegations made on HR procedures and operations in the Eastern Cape region.
Unisa students shutdown the campuses last week Friday by preventing all services from continuing as per normal claiming that there was a decline in services, lack of safety on campus and a collapse in the operational regional management and HR administration of the Eastern Cape Unisa campus.
